Off we Go!

So, we have officially checked out of the country of Mexico! We have been here for nearly 4 months and man, have we seen and learned a lot.

We are really grateful that the checkout process went smoothly and now it’s time to keep moving on.

We anchored our last night in Mexico in a small hook at the mouth of Banderas Bay, for one more night of relative calm. We were able to prep some easy snacks for the next few days and get the boat even more ready. Then we got to unwind as a family by playing some Nintendo switch games together. Spoiler alert: Digory always wins.

As we get ready for this passage, we’ve been looking at the weather on the daily and things look fine. The wind is pretty calm, which also means it’s not dangerous out there either. We’ve stored a lot of extra fuel on deck, preparing for days that we have to motor just to make miles. We’re OK with that! We would rather have a calmer, quieter passage than a spicy and fast one.

We all woke up in good time to a beautiful sunrise and I could tell we were all anxious to just get started. Even the kids. We’ve made some nice “goodie bags” for along the journey, with some artwork by Piper for the bags. Hopefully this will keep us all excited along the way, and keep things interesting.

Like my Dad used to say “it’s all done, but the crying!” Hopefully this trip won’t be fraught with tears, but hopefully some great family memories, and lots of new adventures together. So let’s go!

Here’s our live tracker link again if you wanna follow the boat.

Thanks again for all of your encouragement, and kind words and good thoughts and prayers. We need them all, and we so appreciate them.
